Engineering Intern

Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire

Length of contract: Until September 2027

Salary: £24,792 (Pro rata)

Are you interested in engineering and keen to understand how essential utilities and infrastructure help keep a busy pharmaceutical site running safely and effectively?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Intern to join our Utility Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a professional engineering environment, working alongside experienced engineers and supporting a variety of operational, maintenance and improvement activities.

During your internship, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in:

• Supporting preventative maintenance and remedial engineering activities
• Assisting with engineering projects, including administration, planning and progress tracking
• Helping to maintain technical documents, drawings and engineering records
• Supporting the collection of evidence for compliance activities, audits and inspections
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering investigations
• Learning how a Utility Engineering team supports safe, reliable and business-critical operations

You’ll gain valuable exposure to different areas of engineering while developing your technical knowledge, problem-solving, communication, organisation and teamwork skills.

This role would suit someone who is curious, proactive and keen to learn, with a genuine interest in engineering and how complex systems and infrastructure work in a real-world environment.

You don’t need to know everything from day one. What’s most important is that you bring enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and the confidence to ask questions and get involved.
